Head to the west on the sidewalk and there's Luna Pier Beach Cafe

Look out onto Lake Erie you may see Turtle Island and the remnants of Turtle Island Lighthouse (the Ohio & Michigan state line runs through the middle of it).

Luna Pier got it's name from the dance floor that opened out on Lake Erie on July 3rd, 1926 during the roaring 20's (original Toledo Blade full newspaper ad announcement dated July 1st, 1926).

They danced and played what was then called Lakeside Michigan

Trolly cars ran from downtown Toledo, Ohio to Toledo Beach, Michigan which was the next and last stop from now Luna Pier

Troy cars ran along Lake Erie, open aired, from downtown Toledo, Ohio to Toledo Beach, Michigan. The round trip fare was .35 cents

The trolly turn around was at Toledo Beach, Michigan which had an amusement park and it was a beach playground from after the turn of the century throughout the roaring 20's

The shores of western Lake Erie were booming during the summertime

Remnants of the trolly track can be seen at the end of Harold Dr near the boat launch

Trolly cars were still the main transportation in 1926

Sylvania OH robbery and this hideout was on February 5th, 1930 and this Toledo OH arrest card from May 1930 hang outside. He was convicted, sentenced to 12-15 years in the Columbus Ohio Penitentiary but escaped jumping out of the moving train window

Yes! Actual Pretty Boy Floyd Hideout, corroborated by eye witnesses at the time on tape! He walked in the now Key bank in Sylvania, Ohio with Michigan license plates and robbed the bank, got away, and this was his hideout! He was later caught in Toledo, Ohio and sentenced to 12-15 years in the Columbus Ohio State penitentiary. On the train ride down he jumped out the bathroom window of the moving train and went on to rob banks for another 4 years. Public enemy #1 ambiance of most famous gangster

This Airbnb is so COOL. It was really clean and comfortable. Luna pier is very lively, and very beautiful. This place is definitely unique and I enjoyed staying!

The PB Floyd hideout is pretty cool. Nostalgia in the physical sense and in spiritual ones, as well. The place is both comfortable and right in the pulse of the small community.

fun, charming unit with easy access to pier and beach. Positive: Great location. The restaurant next door was never open. The unit is older and has plenty of charm. The beds and sheets were amazing. Negative: you have to walk thru the first bedroom to get to the second.

this is defiantly not the lap of luxury, the kitchen is very dated. HOWEVER it is an amazing location and well worth the money!! It is like staying in a museum. The history is just amazing, and they have books and articles everywhere to lean more while you stay there. if you are looking for a fun pice of history and some fun photo opportunities then this is a perfect spot.

Michael was always responsive and helpful! Luna Pier was very laid back- not much to do but I guess sometimes we need that in our busy lives. Fun atmosphere with the Pretty Boy Floyd memorobelia. Fun being next to Luna Puer Beach Cafe on a Saturday night. Lots of motorcycles and loud music. Close to Henry Ford museum which was a fun day trip.
